Terms and Conditions of Membership
Migration Friends in Queensland
- For the purposes of the Terms and conditions of membership, Privacy Policy and Terms of use, when the word "MEMBER" is used it will relate to all the persons who a membership relates to, as in section 7 [Seven] of the Terms and conditions of membership.
- The cost of a 12 month membership is to be paid in full and in advance of services provided. Membership will commence and services will be available on the date payment has cleared.
- Friends in Queensland will allow a 7 [Seven] day cooling off period, starting from the day you make your application. This includes business days and weekend days.
- If you decide to cancel your membership during the 7 [Seven] day cooling off period, Friends in Queensland will reimburse your fee, minus a $50 [Australian] administration fee. This fee will cover the cost of transferring your money to us and back to you.
- If you decide to cancel your membership after the cooling off period, but within 28 [Twenty Eight] days [including business days and weekends] after the cooling of period has elapsed, we will reimburse half of your yearly fee to you, minus a $50 [Australian] administration fee.
- Once the 7 day cooling off and the 28 day periods have elapsed [A total of 35 days, including weekends and business days] no refunds will be made.
- Use of an individual membership will be restricted to the primary applicant, the primary applicant's partner or spouse, and the primary applicant's dependant children.
- The "primary applicant", for these purposes is the person who initiates contact and/or makes the application for membership, and it is the primary applicant who will be regarded as the "primary member" of the membership.
- The primary applicant must be 18 years or over.
- Information will not be given to any member under the age of 18 years unless the enquiry is instigated, monitored and approved by an appropriate adult/parent member.
- It is the absolute responsibility of the primary member to monitor, safeguard, and coordinate a secure use of their membership within the primary member's area of control, namely the home address or whatever place or source the primary member uses to access Friends in Queensland . Any agreed passwords, access numbers or login details issued to the membership must be secured by the primary member, and it is the primary member's absolute responsibility to secure the said details.
- Memberships are non transferable.
- A membership is not for use in any commercial or public capacity.
- Friends in Queensland reserve the right to refuse membership without explanation, to any applicant if it is felt appropriate.
- If in the opinion of Friends in Queensland , an enquiry is made, or information is sought of an illegal or inappropriate nature, Friends in Queensland reserve the right to refuse the request and if necessary inform relevant authorities of any unlawful acts, and cancel the relevant membership without refund of any fees paid.
- Friends in Queensland reserve the right to cancel membership of any member if it is felt appropriate. In the event that membership is cancelled by Friends in Queensland , the member will be reimbursed a fee calculated on a daily rate multiplied by the amount of days left on the membership. The final amount will be less a $50 [Australian] administration fee.
- Members will be expected to behave in a reasonable manner at all times and not use abusive behaviour of any type, at any time towards members of Friends in Queensland or operators of the service.
- If, in the opinion of Friends in Queensland , a member uses abusive or unreasonable conduct or behaviour, the membership of the individual may be cancelled. Should this be the case the member will be in breach of membership rules of conduct, as per section 17 [Seventeen], and forfeit any right to a refund of any membership fees paid to Friends in Queensland .
- In the event that membership is cancelled the member will be given an explanation, but the final decision will remain with Friends in Queensland .
- Friends in Queensland reserve the right to amend or update our Privacy policy, Terms of use, and our Terms and Conditions of membership.
- In the event of an amendment or update of our Privacy policy, Terms of use, and our Terms and Conditions of membership, members will be notified as soon as practicable.
- Unless a member raises an objection to an amendment or update to our Privacy Policy, Terms of use, and our Terms and Conditions of membership, it will be taken that the member accepts the amendment or update.
- In the event that a member raises an objection to an amendment or update of our privacy policy, terms of use, and our Terms and Conditions of membership, the member will be given the option to cancel a current membership and be reimbursed as per section 16 [Sixteen] of the terms and conditions of membership.
- If you have a valid complaint, Friends in Queensland will review your complaint and decide how to resolve the complaint fairly. We will consider all the facts the member puts forward and review all the evidence in order to make an informed decision.
- Before becoming a member of friends in Queensland , the member must agree with, and abide by, the Terms of use, the Privacy Policy and the Terms and conditions of membership. Failure to do so will result in a refusal of membership.
- Any existing member not abiding by or agreeing to the Terms of use, the Privacy Policy or the Terms and conditions of membership, will have the relevant membership cancelled without any refund of membership fees.
